The research paper on flu vaccination by Lukas Kauer and Christian P.R. Schmid has been conditionally accepted by the American Journal of Health Economics (AJHE).
The study analyzes CSS mailings promoting flu vaccination. The results show that the mailings significantly increase vaccination rates but that the effect is not sustained over time—insured individuals need to be contacted again each year. The study also demonstrates that insured individuals can be directed to specific healthcare providers.
